About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Commander’s Action Group (CAG) Specialist, NH-0301-03 to work at the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Test Center (AFTC, Headquarters Commanders Action Group (AFTC/CCX) at Edwards Air Force Base.

In this position you will serve as a Commander's Action Group (CAG) Specialist reporting to the CAG Chief and providing direct support to the Commander (O-8), Executive Director (SES), Vice Commander (0-6), Chief Technologist (SL), Director of Staff (NH-04), and CAG Chief (NH-04) by ensuring necessary decision information is available for senior leadership consideration as it relates to all Air Force Test Center (AFTC) policies, issues and requirements, by managing the center's workflow activity, preparing materials for senior leader use across the full spectrum of communication formats and methods, and supporting AFTC Crisis Action Team operations.

Location: Edwards, CA (Edwards Air Force Base)
Typical 2024 salary range: $101,121 – $156,323 per year (includes locality)
Telework Information: Up to 20% telework possible (must reside in local area)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members.

Desired Skills:
– Prefer 2 years of experience researching and drafting speeches, briefings and/or reports for senior leaders.
– Prefer 2 years of experience working with/assisting internal/external customers in an office environment and applying various office automation software.
– Prefer 2 years of experience organizing (creating/planning/executing) tasks.

Major Duties:
– Manages Center workflows to include preparing responses for external and internal taskers and action items
– Analyzes external stakeholders’ responses for taskers to ensure accuracy and that content aligns with tasker response logic
– Conducts original research to determine all requirements to achieve successful project completion.
– Manages CAG project progress and provides, as required, progress reports to senior leadership and the CAG Chief
– Serves as a member of the AFTC Commander’s Crisis Action Team and must maintain operating knowledge of AFMC command and control structure, responsibilities, and applicable instructions and guidance.
– Uses professional software to create, format, modify, edit and print a variety of letters, reports, memos, and other documents and communications IAW AF guidelines

Qualifications/Requirements:
– U.S. Citizenship
– Obtain & maintain Security clearance
– Knowledge of a wide range of management concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices.
– Extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management, and operation of large organizations to provide high level staff guidance and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies.
– Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of a commander's action group in an intermediate headquarters level organization dealing with developmental test and evaluation; and written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques to conduct and coordinate intercommunication between the
– Skill in gathering, evaluating, and interpreting data to identify potential problems, arrive at valid conclusions, and offer meaningful recommendations and/or resolutions.
– Knowledge of written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques to conduct and coordinate commander's action group activities to include producing written and visual information for and making oral presentations to a variety of audiences with different levels of understanding about developmental test and evaluation and the AFTC enterprise.
