About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanic (WG-6652-11) to work at the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), at the 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Maintenance Squadron, Armament Back Shop (MXMWPB) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
The purpose of this position is to provide on-equipment maintenance within the 412th Maintenance Squadron for the 419th Flight Test Squadron Bomber Aircraft, including but not limited to B-1, B-2 and B-52 aircraft. To prepare aircraft for, and perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance and modifications. These aircraft are typically: (a) modified Type II systems for development or test and evaluation; (b) specially instrumented to accomplish test missions; ( c) assigned in support of research and development tests in which they approach design limitations; (d) Additionally, incumbent is responsible to troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, test and service aircraft Weapons systems, subsystems, components, and accessories of aircraft.

Typical 2025 salary range: $94,332 – $110,047 (includes locality)
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Desired Skills:

Major Duties:
- Maintains aircraft munitions and maintenance records
- Determines air worthiness, serviceability, or need for repair, replacement on aircraft system components.
- Use test equipment, electronic measuring equipment, support aerospace ground equipment and applicable hand tools.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical
- In-depth knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, troubleshooting and operation or high performance, test modified, bomber/trainer aircraft and munitions systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of operation, capabilities and limitations or complex aircraft and munitions systems complicated by a variety of multi-component assemblies and devices
- Knowledge of aircraft, electronic, electrical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; instructions, specific 11 series technical drawings, blueprints and technical manuals.
- Demonstrated skill in inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, installing, functionally testing specialized standard and nonstandard/modified systems, components and accessories, and maintaining high performance test modified bomber aircraft and weapons systems
