HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – A 66th Security Forces defender has been selected as a 2024 “Top 5 Airmen” by the Massachusetts State Air and Space Forces Association.
Master Sgt. Raymond Rochleau, 66 SFS standardization and evaluation section superintendent, will be honored by the association as Hanscom Air Force Base’s pick for the award at a ceremony later this month.
“Master Sgt. Rochleau’s selection was based on his tremendous performance while deployed,” said Joe Bisognano, Massachusetts State AFA president.
In October, Rochleau was awarded the Bronze Star for his leadership and actions while deployed to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq.
He and his team were responsible for maintaining airfield operational standards and ensuring safety and security of the base, which endured 66 missile attacks throughout his six-month deployment.
This marks the eighth year the Massachusetts State AFA has recognized the Commonwealth’s top performers. Airmen are chosen from active duty, Massachusetts Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard.
“We are proud to recognize the five outstanding Airmen every year and the total force contributions from both the active duty and reserve components to the Air Force mission,” Bisognano said.
The winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony Jan. 25 at the USS Constitution Museum in Charlestown, Mass.
Brig. Gen. Joseph F. Morrissey, Jr, Massachusetts Air National Guard air component commander, will serve as the guest speaker.
Other 2024 “Top 5” selectees:
- Senior Airman Brandyn DeLong, Cape Cod Space Force Station, Mass.
- Senior Master Sgt. Rachael Jacobs, Otis Air National Guard Base, Mass.
- Staff Sgt. Hannah Jones-Trudeau, Barnes Air National Guard Base, Mass.
- Master Sgt. Kevin Pechie, Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass.
